You could have a slow computer or slow internet and there is nothing more annoying when you are trying to get something done, but help is at hand!!

I  have lost count of people who have contacted us after going to PC world to have there computers back missing data and having the same problems within weeks, so why not say your money and have a look at our computer website for information?

Computers are pretty simple  although they can seem so complex-ed at times, and we have ways of making them work,  may of the problems that people have are down to maintenance issue,  and some are due to software issues (which includes viruses).

Number 1 problem:

As computer software has developed and we add patches from Microsoft updates, many people forget to update the other software. These are things called drivers and they make the there bits of hardware work correctly. What happens is that as you update the operating system (like xp)  the drivers for other bits may not get updated and this causes software incompatibility and generally slows things down.

Solution:
down load the drivers  for your computers other hardware such as the graphics card and motherboard.

Number  2 Problem:
When you got your computer you were so excited you forgot to read the small print didn’t you? If you had read the details of the software you would have been fully aware that you had to uninstall and then reinstall your main operating system and start afresh.

Solution:
 format your hard drive reinstall  your operating system; however most system manufacturers didnt bother to include the nessasary  discs to do this correctly and  so you may have to do what is called a factory reset. (this is what PC world do for any problem) Simply pop in the disc and select factory restore. once you have done this, then simply reinstall your files from your back up and all other software applications after you have updated your system.

Number 3 Problem:
Internet a lot slow, well this is a common issue wth the Internet explorer,  what it cant do well is cope with the internet and  it caches (saves on your computer)  all the files you have been looking at and then  doesn’t get rid of any so as it gets filled its like pouring too much water into a cup.

Solution:
Well for many people, I wont tell you how to change the settings for some relief, but under tools> options> history you will see delete all, when it gets to slow just do this and things should get backup to speed.
I think that there are many good alternatives that will work for you. FireFox or Chrome will do a great job and speeding up your Internet experience.

But remember, old computer will be slower due to the memory and the hard drives and that cannot be fixed so easy.

Number 4 Problem:
Viruses and other software installed,  yes the dreaded viruses and  before you read this and think that NO you CANT have a Virus, think again!  Most software doesn’t work at finding and removing the viruses. So don’t count on your software working. I have used a 9 month old scanner on up to-date anti virus software to find it doesn’t work and picked off 24 viruses. and for those with AVG (anti virus guard)  many times I have removed in excess of 300 viruses from these computers.
Also the load of software on the system can slow things down, there are two types,  usless  in the bottom bar, for printers scanners and cameras and a host of other things that you don’t really use and then the other type is those that have been installed into the Internet explorer. may of these are spy’s and have been installed due to  not reading. you end up with so many different ones they slow the whole thing down.

Solution: For viruses or spyware /adware  call us, and we will remove the issues correctly. and  we may not lose your data in the process  ( PC world will )  You need to get a good working anti virus software solution and you need to  get spyware protection.
for the internet exsplorer, uninstall  the plug ins,  you will find it in the tools menu. you will also want to reset the interent exsplorer to default and remove plugins..
