Custom build computers - what you need

Clients are always asking a wide range of questions after shopping around and reading up for months before buying a computer system, the problem with this is that they often dont really look beyond the media hype or the technical details to be able to build and select the hardware. This often leads to a less that perfect computer system.

When we look at computer users and their needs and wants from a computer this gives us some idea of what they are looking for. On the other side of this, what they use the computer for will make a difference in the hardware selection. Many people are confused as to what hardware dose what and where they will benefit form certain hardware. Certainly price and size dosent make a computer any better.

Any person who takes months to read and select hardware is out of date by the time that they come to order their computer system, with computer hardware changing monthly it can often be the case that hardware can be outdated within a matter of weeks, which is why we keep our fingers in all the pies to know what it coming up in the next few years, in most cases we are around 4 years advanced before the hardware becomes available and therefore are in a better position to give advice. If you have been following certain magazines, then you will be around a year behind most technologies and you will certinly be a month behind..

Everyone should be generic with the requirements that they put to Psy4 computers, as we often wont really listen to you and your idea of a computer system, normally this is because the information is wrong, but we do consider what you say in general. Often people will select the hardware will not work for what they need and finally we will not build poor systems.

To give some examples:
A person went out and purchased all the lastest computer hardware that the mag's said was the fastest, they got home and built the computer and it was slow loading and booting up. We were called out to provide a fix, the motherbaord was wrong, the RAM was wrong and the whole systems slowed down.

A person had an old computer and though that the problem was the RAM or lack of it. They purached RAM from a supplier and installed it. The system was no better. The problem was that the RAM and motherbaord was not compatible and the ram was not used correctly, The system was to far out of date to be upgraded fro teh use that the computer user had intended.

A person bought some Raptor hard drive to make gamng a bit faster, the new drives were installed but the computer was no faster. The problems was that the set up of the systems was wrong and there were no benefits from the drives. a few alterations by us and the systems performance grew, we also suggested new RAM to give the system additional performance.

As you can see getting the right hardware and use of the computer right is more than getting the latest and fastest hardware, a computer is made from many different parts and as a whole they need to be considered together with the use of the system. We could hand hold a person through every option of computer hardware and discus the plus points or negative points of each part, when considering that each part will have to relate to each others hardware part this can take a large amount of time to detail. If we consider that RAM, will perform differently on each motherboard and chipset and will be effected by the proceossor and the hard drives we could be looking at 8 sets of RAM, 30 motherboards, 4 Chips sets and 8 processors. This gives us a total of 7680 combinations to detail, which is excessive by its self without considering the rest of the system.

You should take into account disc space, the software that you will be using, any back up areas that you will need and what games or software you will be using. The remainder will be the budget as this is important. We can then use our knowledge to select the hardware for your needs faster as we deal with computer systems and hardware on a daily basis.

In fact, you can simply contact us with what you want a computer for and your budget, and we can select and build your computer for you using our knowledge to build you the best system that your money can buy.
